Maggie Smith is an English Born Actress who has been nominated and won a series of Emmy’s, Golden Globes, BAFTA’s, and Screen Actor Guild awards for her portrayal of Violet Crawley on the PBS series Downton Abbey. Maggie has an extensive acting career dating back to 1958 when she played Bridget Howard in Nowhere to Go. She appeared in the Harry Potter film sequels as Professor Minerva McGonagall. In Downton Abbey she earns a respective $700,000 per season. But she and the entire cast also gets paid through a percentage of DVD sales of the show.
